Ceasar Scare

Hey guys-

Just a quick update, I’ll fill in the details later– Last night, Ceasar decided it was time to start working toward a professional career in hurdling tall objects- it didn’t work out so well-

Here's a sample of the aftermath

he fell, started gushing blood, and it took us a LONG time to get it to stop. It was after hours for the vet, and until we stopped the bleeding, we couldn’t move him to the car.

It was terrifying, but my dad and brother Joseph were so calm and helpful. I have a long explanatory video I’m attempting to post to YouTube now, but it’s slow going down here in Harlingen, Texas with the ethernet cable.

I’ll give a better update later tonight after we get back from the vet.

Long night..Words can't express my guilt..

Ceasar Has Been Saved

The night before surgery

The night before surgery

The response to our little foster Ceasar has been unreal! In 3 days, we received enough funding to cover his entire surgery and followup costs, plus his neuter!

Since we got him home one week ago yesterday, all our energy has been poured into him one way or another– first it was stressing over how to find the money, then it was celebrating that we were receiving all we needed, then the post surgery healing process…It’s still pretty hectic around here, but his progress is amazing.
Ice packs & constant physical contact have been keeping him calm & comfy

We’re keeping YouTube stocked with his journey via film. Don’t expect greatness when it comes to film quality, but definitely expect to see a sweet dog move toward healing. Watch Ceasar improve!

To see the local news report, click here . Ashlea Sigman with http://kbtx.com and her camera guy were so much fun to spend the afternoon with.

Ceasar’s story even made Mashable (….I didn’t actually know what this is, but apparently it’s a site that posts top Twitter news. How cool, to think that 7 days ago, this dog was left to die- he was crawling with bugs and biting ants, with open wounds and mangled leg– now he’s getting worldwide support!) Ceasar on Mashable

My roommate Connie Donnellan can be found on Twitter at http://twitter.com/cdonnellan. She’s been just as much a part of this rescue operation as I.

By day 3 post-op, he was feeling much better

The original link to donate to Ceasar is still open if people want to donate. We’ve got what we need right now, anything additional would go specifically to fund his obedience and good citizenship training, or anything Ceasar’s-needs related. But really– we’re doing great right now. If you’re really itching to give someone some money who’s doing 100x the service we are– then check out Della with God’s Little Creatures out of Bryan, Texas.

No such thing as a bad breed, just bad owners

No such thing as a bad breed, just bad owners

What an incredible lady she is! Della is who made us realize that anyone can help a needy animal- it takes some sacrifice, some time, and some love. Thanks, Della, for helping save Ceasar through your excellent example you set for animal advocacy and pit bull acceptance!

I’ll have to start updating my blog more, I guess! Stay tuned for more Ceasar info!

Thanks to all of you for Saving Ceasar!
